1) BAMS Course Brief Information :-

BAMS stands for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery. BAMS is a five and a half year medical undergraduate course. We learn principles of Ayurveda in this course so we can use those principles to heal patients. BAMS teaches us how to treat a patient with Ayurveda without negative side effects.


2) Required Educational Qualification for BAMS Course :-

* If you want to take admission in BAMS course, you have to pass 12th       (Physics + Chemishy + Biology) must be passed with PCB subjects.

* Must also pass the entrance exam NEET.

* Minimum 50% marks in 12th science.

• Must have 40% marks for SC/ST and

   45% marks is required for UR PWD.


3) Entrance test to be given for admission to BMS course :-

* If you want to get admission in BAMS course, you need to clear NEET         (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test).

* NEET exam is conducted not only in our own state but all over India, to     take this NEET exam you don't have to go far, but the exam is                     conducted in your own state as well as in the nearest city, so students       can take the exam at their own place without traveling far.

* This exam is of total duration of three hours

* The fee for this exam is Rs.1500

* This exam has a negative marking system so if a question is missed,         one mark is deducted for that wrong answer.

* In this exam you will be asked MCQ ie multiple choice questions .


 4) BAMS Course Fee :-

* The fee of this course can be from 40 thousand to twelve lakhs on an          average in reputed colleges .

* The fee for this course in government colleges is generally 10000 to          30000.

* Fee for BMS course in private colleges can generally range from 40000      to12 lakhs.

* There are 273 BAMS colleges in whole India out of which 53 colleges         are government. 


5) Syllabus for BAMS Course :-

The BMS course is of five and a half years duration in which one year training course is compulsory.Different subjects are taught every year.

1) Ayurvedic Nirupana

2) Pratyaksha. Pariksha.

3) Pariksh.

4) Dravya Vigyan Niyam. 

5) Anumanpariksha.

6) Samavaya Vigyanam

2) Mishra Gana.

3) Basic Pathology

4) Prabhava.

5) Vyadhi Vigyan.

6) Diseases of Rasa vaha srotas


Third Year Syllabus –

At present we see that many people are turning to Ayurvedic treatment. Although the results of Ayurvedic treatment are very fast, it does not have any side effect on the human body, so people have increased their treatment towards Ayurvedic. Therefore, more career opportunities are available to BMS students.

So let us now see what career opportunities are available for the students who complete BAMS course.

1) One can get job in big hospitals in administrative work by doing                hospital administration.

2) Job opportunities are available in medical tourism 

3) Also BMS passed students can do government jobs as administrators        by giving state level exams like UPSC MPSC.

4) Students who have completed BMS can apply for postgraduate                  courses like MDMS

5) Can also work as Medical Officer and can also work as Junior Clinical         Trial Coordinator.

6) Health Therapist can do the job here

7) Can work as a physician and ayurvedic surgeon.
